DIGIWORLD RECORDS IMPRESSIVE THIRD QUARTER BUSINESS RESULT, EXCEEDING THE PROFIT TARGET BY 110%

Ho Chi Minh City, November 1, 2021, Digiworld Coporation - “DGW” announced its business result for the third quarter of 2021, in which net revenue and profit after tax record the growth during the Covid season, respectively VND 3,825 and VND 107 billion. The revenue increased by 5.5% and profit after tax increased by 43% over the same period of the third quarter of 2021.

Thus, for the first 9 months of 2021, Digiworld has achieved total of VND 13,050 billion in revenue, an increase of 53% and VND 330 billion in profit after tax, an increase of 96% compared to the same period in 2020. And compared to the plan of early 2021 (VND 15,200 billion in revenue and VND 300 billion in profit), Digiworld has achieved 86% of the revenue plan and 110% of the profit plan, excellently exceeding the profit target.

Therefore, Digiworld has made adjustments to the target to be achieved in the last 6 months of 2021 as follows: revenue – VND 10,000 billion, profit - VND 277 billion. That is, the adjusted business target for the whole year is VND 19,225 – VND 500 billion in revenue and profit, respectively (up 26% and 67% compared to the plan of the early year).

Digiworld's business result in the third quarter of 2021 was as follows:

  • - Laptop & Tablet: Q3/2021 revenue of this segment reached VND 1,854 billion, up 46% over the same period. This growth rate was high compared to that of most recent quarter – Q2/2021 (VND 13.30 billion). This was a group of goods that recorded a high consumption demand with the trend of "studying and working from home" when the Covid-19 epidemic broke out strongly. Besides, the back-to-school season was also a factor contributing to the growth of this segment. At the end of the third quarter of 2021, the laptop & tablet segment completed 91% of the annual plan.
  • - Mobile phone: Q3/2021 revenue reached VND 1,381 billion, a decrease of 26% over the same period due to general effects such as: (1) Non-essential product, restricted in operation during the epidemic season; (2) Just a solution to solve the temporary need for "studying and working from home" due to the small screen, much lower battery capacity than Laptop and tablet. (3) Low season quarter because Apple, Xiaomi and Huawei have not launched new products in Vietnam. However, the market share of the companies has still growing steadily: In the third quarter of 2021, Xiaomi was in third position with more than 14% market share, Apple reached nearly 7% - an increase of approximately 2% over the same period.
  • - Office equipment: reached VND 467 billion in revenue - an increase of 13% over the same period. This growth was due to the fact that the office equipment segment was heavily affected when enterprises downsized their operations when the social distance was prolonged. However, IoT products such as Home Appliance, Smart Watch of Xiaomi, Huawei, Apple have been increasingly popular and gradually built up their own customer file for 2 years of market penetration. Therefore, the office equipment segment is expected to become the third business pillar of DGW in the near future. At the end of third quarter of 2021, this segment completed 84% of the annual plan.
  • - Consumer goods: In the third quarter of 2021, this segment recorded an especially impressive growth compared to that of the previous quarters. Specifically, this segment achieved VND 123 billion in revenue, up 98% over the same period. This growth was thanks to the anti-epidemic products added by DGW such as Covid 19 antigen test kits, anti-epidemic suits (gloves, masks, face shields), ... And from now to the end of the year, in the context that health becomes the top concern when the whole country is living with the epidemic, DGW expects this segment to continue to grow well.

For the first 9 months of 2021, the development of the Covid-19 epidemic in Vietnam, especially in the South, was extremely stressful. Especially in the third quarter, when the whole economy was heavily affected by the measures to tighten social distancing at the highest level, it was difficult for the circulation of non-essential goods in the South and other provinces. However, with the prolonged trend of "studying and working from home", ICT and IoT products have become more essential than ever, helping Digiworld record a record revenue for the third quarter and a growth rate of 5.5 % compare to the high growth rate of 2020 (VND 3,624 billion).
